Join us for an evening of sonnets and lobster, featuring excerpts from Freeport's upcoming Shakespeare Festival performance of "Twelfth Night". A traditional Maine lobster and clam bake will be served under the farmhouse tent.

Shakespeare.... And Lobster? A benefit to remember.

This unusual, yet delectable combination will make for an unforgettable evening as the Freeport Shakespeare Festival players descend on Wolfe's Neck Farm on Saturday, July 23rd. Eighteen actors (and two directors) will start the season with a sneak preview of this summer's performances. The hour-long performance begins with six short monologues to start the festivities; a prologue and a scene from "Before Bill"; and two scenes from "Twelfth Night". Once the performance commences, the actors and crew will join the audience at their tables and indulge in a traditional Maine Lobster Bake provided by Maine Shore Catering.

The event will begin at 6:00 pm at the Wolfe's Neck Farm Little River Farmhouse Tent, located at 184 Burnett Road in Freeport, Maine.  Ticket prices are $40 per person; proceeds benefit the Wolfe's Neck Farm Foundation. The Freeport Shakespeare Festival organized to inspire, educate and enrich the lives of the residents of Freeport and surrounding communities, was born out of a shared vision to adapt a popular outdoor concert venue into a home for outstanding Shakespeare Theater. The organization seeks to enhance the cultural richness of Freeport, Maine by presenting an annual free outdoor Shakespeare production in a central, downtown location for one week in the summer.
