Our Education Program hires seasonal educators each Spring, Summer, and Fall. We hire individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, including the natural sciences, agriculture, humanities and education. We will list employment opportunities on this page as they are available. 2013 SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES: Summer Day Camp Summer Camp Junior Counselors (Volunteer Position): These dedicated volunteers ages 14-17 are an important part of our Summer Day Camp program. Paired with our Summer Camp Counselors, JC's volunteer two or more weeks of their time to help oversee our campers, play games, participate in skits and songs, and have a wonderful, enriching experience! Summer Camp Counselors: We are seeking Summer Camp Counselors to work within our Summer Day Camp program, leading small groups of children for full days of outdoor adventures and explorations. Counselors should have experience working with children and a love for agriculture and the outdoors. Ba Summer Camp Theatre Counselor: We are seeking one Summer Camp Theatre Counselor to work within our Summer Day Camp program. The 2013 Theatre Counselor will work with each and every camper group several times over the course of the week to develop and practice skits or performance pieces for the Friday show. The Theater Counselor will organize and facilitate all aspects of the camp-wide performance for family and friends on Friday afternoon. Teen Ag Crew Teen Agriculture Crew Members (Ages 15-18): Looking for a few good Teens! Crewmembers will be involved in all aspects of growing crops and raising livestock for various markets including food pantries and on site sales. No previous farming experience is necessary! We are looking for a dynamic and motivated team member who is committed, flexible and reliable. Field Production Intern: The Field Production Intern’s primary responsibility will be to work daily with our Teen Agricultural Crew, a group of local teenagers hired to learn about farming, raising livestock and cultivating vegetables on an acre of preserved farmland. This position will focus on vegetable production and requires an ability to balance productivity and youth education. Livestock Intern: The Livestock Intern’s primary responsibility will be to work daily with our Teen Agricultural Crew, a group of local teenagers hired to learn about farming, raising livestock and cultivating vegetables on an acre of preserved farmland. This position will focus on animal management and requires an ability to balance productivity and youth education. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Campground Office/Store: We are looking for cheerful, friendly people that have extensive customer service skills to welcome and provide superior service to our campers. Must have complete confidence in computer skills (experience with reservation systems a plus), and have cash register and sales experience. Mostly looking for positive personalities to work in a relaxed yet at times a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask. More important to work as a team member and jump in when there are tasks to be done. Cleaning Positions: We are looking for some who is confident and takes pride in their work, be able to work independently and pays close attention to detail. This position includes maintaining the shower/bath houses, out houses and cabins. This is a position that needs someone who is organized and can manage their time well; and is enthusiastic and highly motivated about this position. Snack Shack (concessions) part time: (June 28 – Sept. 2) Seeking outgoing, friendly people with a positive attitude and great customer service skills. Experience in food service and prep a must. Must be able to make pizza, scoop ice cream, and a grill, and also know how to use a cash register and make accurate change. Important that this person is able to work independently and know how to manage their time well. Multitasking capabilities are essential. |
